Summer Camp (May 27 - July 17)Higley HangoutHigley Hangout is an out-of-school time enrichment program that offers a variety of activities including organized indoor and outdoor games, developmental centers, arts and crafts, and study/ homework time. Afternoon snacks are provided at no additional cost, we do recommend bringing a snack from home. Higley Hangout is not a licensed childcare facility under section §36-884. Thus, Higley Hangout, offered through the Community Education department, provides only recreational or instructional activities to children who may enter into and depart from the facility at their own volition. The facility may require the children to document their entrance into and departure from the facility. This documentation does not affect the exemption under this paragraph. Summer OrchestraMusic and ArtsJumpstart Orchestra, 2-week course for current 4th-5th graders. who have not taken orchestra before. Focuses on the basics of instrument technique, instrument care, rhythm, and note reading along with learning some beginning songs on your instruments Intermediate orchestra, 2-week course for current 5th and 6th graders that have already taken beginning orchestra for one year. Focus on mastering the basic positions of all four strings of your instrument along with some extensions and low second fingers. We will be reviewing concepts taught in 5th and 6th grade and learn some fun music together.
